Use the same barbell for all exercises and do not use a rack.  You must clean the weight from the floor each time you rest.

Laura Lilly, visiting home from Stanford University gets in a workout with her mother Margaret Leavitt.  They are shown performing 3 rep maxes on thrusters.   Margaret is starting to overcome life long shoulder issues.  Its exciting to see her with a barbell overhead and no reports of shoulder discomfort.
