Big Hopes For Today

Rest Day, except for us.

Yesterday started off with a gnarly couplet of 21-15-9, Deadlift 275/205 and Box Jump 30"/24".  Blake went our like a maniac and pulled out into an early lead over the men.  Towards the end, this workout each rep of the deadlift and the box jumps started to seem like an enormous feat.  Brooke kept a steady pace through er portion of the workout.  They ended up with a combine time of 11:40.  Even though it was a great time and a great performance by both athletes, it was a 14th place finish.  Lets just say… there are a lot of BAMF's out here.

Weather got real bad towards the afternoon and the decision was made to lower the 250 reps of chest to bar pull ups down to 150 for the team event.  The 150 pull ups were followed by 250 each of KB Swing 35/53, Double Unders, and Overhead Squats 95/65 performed as a team.  Lucky for us, the weather let up just as it was time for our heat and we got to finish with the sun shining.  We had a great performance, finishing in 22:30 and placing us in a controversial 4th place in the workout.

With the 14th place and the 4th place finishes yesterday we finished the day in 4th place overall.  We are 8 points away from a games qualifying spot.  8 points will be very difficult to make up today, but we are putting some talented athletes on the playing field and there is still a chance.  So we go to war today.

We expect to see a solid performance out of Trav and Brooke on the Muscle Up/Snatch WOD, and the rest us are well prepared for the last chipper.
