“My name is Ilaria and I am 18 years old…yes I know I’m a baby! I was born and raised here in Sacramento, although the majority of my family is from the East Coast (Go Patriots!). Right now I work at Victoria’s Secret PINK in the Arden Fair mall and, despite known retail horrors, I love it! I’m currently a student going into my second year at Sac State majoring in Kinesiology. I’m on the dance team there as well. I’ve been dancing seriously since around the age of 11 and that’s how I’ve been staying in shape and flexible. I absolutely LOVE to dance, it’s my passion. When I was younger I dreamed of being on Broadway… a girl can dream! For now I’ll just stick to football and basketball halftimes!

As far as workout experience goes outside of my dance regime, I would occasionally go to Cal Fit and work out until I got bored (that got old real quick). As far as hobbies go, I love anything that has to do with nature! I love Lake Tahoe and, if I could, I would spend my entire summer up there hiking, swimming, camping, enjoying every bit of it. My short term fitness goal is simple. I want to look good and feel confident about my body. My long term goal is much more. I’ve always looked up to people who were physically strong and healthy.

About a year ago I tried one CrossFit class with my friend Megan. I immediately fell in love but I couldn’t afford it. I’ve always been in shape and toned but that’s just not enough for me. I want to be able to walk down the street and have people think, “wow, she’s strong”. I want to be someone other people, specifically young women, can look up to. I love being a leader and inspiring others and I really don’t think there’s a better way than by being healthy and physically strong. And I know CrossFit can help me become that person. I love a good challenge. I crave it. When I’m not being challenged I look for something new, it’s the athlete in me. And I know that CrossFit WILL challenge me, and I cannot wait for this journey!!”
