I went for a sweet trail run last week in Hawaii. I covered the majority of my distance on an old horse trail called Kings Trail. It was a really rugged trail that just went on down the coast for miles. I made my way off the trail and out to the coast for a good portion of the excursion. Once off the main trail, crossing the lava fieIds was quite challenging. Luckly I had decided to get a new pair of really rugged trail shoes, my Inov-8's would not have gottem me far. Initially had planned to run about 3-4 miles, but after I made it out to the coast I kept going and the run ended up being just over 6 miles.
