Okay so I know this isn't Craigslist or Rentals.com or any other classified website but I wanted to come to you guys before I added my place to those sites. For those of you who don't know, Brady and I are moving to Oregon. It's been a really rough past three weeks for me. It is going to be extremely difficult leaving such an amazing place that I found here at CFES. You all are my family out here and I hold a lot of you very close to my heart. I am not going to make this a sob story and cry and whine about leaving because I COULD!!! But rather, I will offer you an opportunity:)
Brady and I bought our home 2 years ago and with the market the way it is, we would like to try and rent it out for a couple years. It is cute lil home just over 1,000 square feet located near Fulton and Cottage. We have done a number of updates to the home. It is a 2bd 1 full bath (+ office/den and a bonus room-we use it as Rookie's room and a ping pong room. It has a doggie dog and closes off from the rest of the house). It has an awesome backyard that Brady and I redid with a really cool shed that could be used as a garage gym:) A perfect area for a pull-up structure to be built too! We don't mind:) Original hardwood floors throughout, carpet in the bedrooms and new flooring in the kitchen and office/den. 2 car garage, wood burning fireplace (we've never used), washer and dryer, fridge and a gas oven. We would ask that the tenants maintain the yard and Brady and I will keep the mower and trimmer in the shed for the tenants to use.
We would love to sign a year lease to someone that we know. Rent is $1350/mo plus gas, electric and cable. Water, sewage and garbage will be included in rent. Please keep your eyes and ears open for someone that you may know or you yourself is looking to rent. The home will be available to move in June 1st. Let me know if you are interested and you can swing by and check it out. Next step, property management.

You house is cute, and it should rent out just fine. I will keep my ears open.
But leaving…ah man, I am totally bummed. I wish you only happiness and thank you so much for spending part of you coaching days with me. You were just simply, awesome.
Big Rob
<---wishes he wasn't broke, that house looks aawesome, ill be sure to let anyone I know whos looking know

You’ll be back! I can feel it in my old bones!
brother mike
Oregon will be fun, but you will never pronounce an “a” the same way again (Corvaaaaalis, Willaaaaamette, etc.).
Sorry to see you go, but glad to hear Brady got such an incredible opportunity.
Bryan Turner
Is that your bed? Hot.

I just ran across this article and it has a Crossfit tie:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110505/ap_on_re_us/us_seal_hero_warship
It is about Michael “Murph” Murphy having a warship named after him.
Murph has a crossfit hero workout named after him that involves:
■1 mile Run
■100 Pull-ups
■200 Push-ups
■300 Squats
■1 mile Run
All while wearing a 20# vest.
From the xfit mainsite:
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it ‘Body Armor.’ From here on it will be referred to as ‘Murph’ in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
From the article, explainging Murph’s nickname “The Protector,”:
Murphy, of Patchogue, N.Y., earned his nickname after getting suspended in elementary school for fighting with bullies who tried to stuff a special-needs child into a locker and for intervening when some youths were picking on a homeless man . . .”
His final act was also incredibly heroic:
“[During a firefight] In a last-ditch effort to save his team, Murphy pulled out his satellite phone, walked into a clearing to get reception and called for reinforcements as a fusillade of bullets ricocheted around him. One of the bullets hit him, but he finished the call and even signed off, ‘Thank you.’ Then he continued the battle.”
We don’t often get that much information about some of the heroes for whom the hero WODs are named, but I know that after seeing this I will not be looking at the next hero WOD we do the same way.

Broski… That’s incredible. If we ever do that… God forsakenly terrifying workout… I’ll remember what Murph did, stood for, and how he lived his life.
Justin Riley
Travis and I have done Murph. I did it once without the vest then we both did it with a vest. Took about 50 minutes with the vest on and we both vowed to never do that workout again and to never make anyone else do it either.
Scott Charles
Justin: well, sanity isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I’m with Sean (although not as likely as he is to actually do the WOD as described).
John Michelmore
Brooke, I’ll pass on the word regarding the house, but that’s a bummer you will be leaving. You and Brady will be missed big time!
Justin, regarding Murph…..thanks! I’ll leave that one to my kids! :o)
Jen
AND you’ll be living in the same neighborhood as Travis and I. Its a great one.
Sean V.
I don’t know about living that close to Travis… The possibility of some guy yelling at me to set my back when I’m doing the yard isn’t theist appealing…
Sean V.
The most appealing*… stupid auto correct.
brother mike
Sean, unless Travis could see it from the couch where he watches movies and stretches for 8 hours a day or on the way out at night after he puts on his superhero costume, you could get away with shitty lawn mowing form.
Ashley Drummond
Brooke (and Brady and Rookie), you will be missed. Big time. Things won’t be the same around here without you.
brother mike
If you rent Brooke’s house and install a pull up bar heed the warning of this video Jeff Frost was courteous enough to share.

We’re gonna miss you Brooke! When I’m selling people on CFES I usually bring in the part about the super motivating but will still kick your ass trainer, Brooke! Best of luck to you guys 🙂
Hollis
If you don’t rent out the house, does that mean you won’t move? If that’s the case the your house is terrible. Everything about it. It smells like death, has leaky plumbing, and the furnace is a racket. Just say no people!
If you’re still moving anyway, then that place is awesome, spacious with that layout, and well taken care of. And no smells, leaks or furnace issues. Just say yes people!
PS we love you Brooke!
Kelli Brogan
Brooke we will miss you. So, glad that I got to do On Ramp with you. We will also miss seeing Rookie pulling Brady down the street on his skateboard. Best of luck to you both.
Jamie P
Ugh. Boo. The kid in me who’s pissed you’re leaving refuses to pass this info on…the adult in me is sooooo excited for Brady’s opportunity and what lies ahead for you, and will gladly pass on the info.
We’ll see which one prevails…
Olga B
Let’s all pray very very hard that King’s ARE staying in town and Brady IS hired as their head coach in a year at most.
Matt P
Ok Brooke, how about this: we build you a pull-up/muscle-up station and you stay.
Deal? Deal… Problem solved.
Shem
How about Brooke comes and works once every 2 or 3 months and then stays for a month in Oregon? California is way better!
Check out this video of Ueli Steck speed climbing up the Eiger in Switzerland this man is just as incredible as Murph. My favorite comment on the video is “I think he’d climb the mountain faster if he wasn’t hauling around his giant balls of steel.”

Olga, I’m down for that.
Matt P., I’m also down for THAT!

Brought to you by Team Superfreak. The ultimate in Crossfit elite. (and if the html does not work blame me, I am new at this too…)
Derek W
Murph is a HORRIBLE experience. Big ups to the hero…and to anyone who does that WOD.
Shem
Do they get points deducted for asking for points?
Tirza
Brooke you will be greatly missed! Perhaps you’ll come back and compete in this: http://toughmudder.com/ just stumbled on it tonight, but it looks like a lot of fun. Anyone interested?
Sabrina
Tirza, I was down for the Tough Mudder until I got to the part of the course where they administer electric shocks. While you’re soaking wet by the way. No thanks. http://toughmudder.com/events/norcal2011/nor-cal-2011-course-map/

The house is very comfortable just like home from home, and is not to be passed up if it,s in the area you wish to visit.
Agata Renfrew
Oh, that’s a pretty spacious house! Has this been rented? Hmm, the exterior looks pretty small in the picture. But all in all, it’s a good home to have. 🙂
