5 Rounds For Time:
10 Pull Ups
20 Overhead Plate Lunges 45/25

CFES is about community and community is about getting involved.  Here are 3 different events that are taking place in the near future that are great oppritunities to get involved and test yourselves

The Summer Strength Challenge
Level 10 CrossFit, Oroville CA
June 18th
Picture 1 This will be a great event for athletes of all abilities to compete in a CF event with a strongman flavor to it.  I competed in the Fall Strength challenge earlier this year and had a blast doing creative workouts.  Level 10 puts on great event and I encourage anyone who can make it to give this a shot.  Click here for more info.

The Weekend Warrior Series

Touring local affiliates
Every other Saturday From September 10th – November 5th
Picture 2 This will be a league type competition in which scaled and Rx teams will compete head to head against each other at home and away.  Teams are comprised of 4 competitors and can change weekly, so you do not have to compete each date, we can switch athletes in and out as needed.

If you all are interested in competing, CFES will cover our team entry fees and support our athletes in competing.  This is a great way to get invovled in friendly competition and meet other local CF'ers, plus Reebok is sponsoring the event with some great swag.  Let me know if you are interested in taking part in this.

Tough Mudder

September 17th at Squaw Valley
Picture 3The CFES team is set to race on Saturday, September 17th.  We have a “preferred” start time of 12:40PM, yet due to the tons of people signing up, they cant guarantee that time, and might have to shift things around a bit.  They will try to get us as close to that start time as possible, and will notify us a week or two ahead of the race of our actual start time.  Accommodations are in the process of being set up for those who want to make it more than a day trip

If anyone has already signed up as an individual and want to join the Crossfit East Sac team, there are instructions on how to do so on the Tough Mudder website (they have a massive FAQ section that answers most questions anyone might have).  Transferring from an individual registrant to the CFES Team costs $30, just an FYI.

For anyone still looking to sign up, the situation is kind of murky.  I got an email from the Tough Mudder folks last night saying that they had reached the maximum of 7500 participants that their permit allowed for.  They are working on getting another permit for an additional 7,500 people as we speak.  People can sign up in the meantime, but Tough Mudder cannot guarantee your registration (if you signed up after 1PM on 5/25) until early July, when they expect to hear about the permit.  If they don’t end up getting the permit, everyone who signed up will receive a full refund.  If people are still interested in signing up, they can do it through ToughMudder.com and search for our team or I can email me at seanetalley@gmail.com and request an invitation.  They will ask for a password, which is CFES.  Prices are currently $130 a pop until June 18, when they go up to $140.
