What a weekend! Almost 100 teams competed in a competition filled with a full spectrum of workouts. Picking up heavy stones, riding bikes, walking on one's hands, and the unique team police car pull were just a few of the movements seen the past couple of days. CFES had a fantastic showing with our Novice team (Ashley, Leah, Colin, and Blake) taking 1st place, one of our Masters teams (Sabrina, Cori B, Brian, and Tony) taking 1st place, and our Open team (Cori P, Loren, Alan, Trav) just missing the final workouts but still breaking the top 10. A big thanks goes to Blair Morrison for programming a top notch competition and all the volunteers for doing a great job judging and keeping the event running smoothly. Another huge thank you to all the volunteers, spectators, and athletes for coming out because this wasn't possible without any of you.

  1. Congratulations to Sabrina, Cori B, Brian (1/2 pt), and Tony. We did our best to catch you guys! That was a ton of fun and a fantastic venue, Jason. All of our teams had a blast and gained valuable experience heading into the Open.

  2. Thanks to all the people who got behind the throwdown! A great event.

Fun event this weekend- it always amazes me how smooth something that big can go when its well organized and has a group of well coordinated and helpful volunteers and judges. Thanks everyone who gave up months (Justin) and days (all the volunteers) of their time so some of us could test ourselves against some other athletes and witness some pretty amazing and inventive athletic feats.
Great job Ashley, Alan, Blake, Brian, Colin, Cori, Cori, Donna, Jenn, John, Leah, Loren, Sabrina, Tony, and Travis.

Awesome interview with Cori P. In broadcasting parlance, she speaks Sony (smooth interview, informative not grasping for words). Well Done!

  5. One thing I learned from the event: I need to stop thinking about Fran, and focus on double-unders and toes-to-bars. And bar muscle-ups.

  6. Congrats to our rock star CFES athletes! You all did such a great job. Big shout out to Justin and his crew on a very cool, well-executed event! Very inspiring.

  7. Great Work Guys on putting on a fantastic Throwdown! Congrats to all the CFES athletes and volunteers on an excellent showing in every facet this weekend!!!

  8. I dropped off a video clip I put together of the SacTown ThrowDown Police Car Pull for Justin to load. Hopefully, its up soon…

  9. Thank you, Justin and Blair, for organizing and programming a really fun event. Great big thanks to all of the volunteers who made the whole weekend run so smoothly. And muchas gracias to all the CFES family who came out to cheer on the competitors. It may take a few days for the hearing in my left ear to recover from all the screaming on the last wod, but it is totally worth it! Cori, Brian and Tony, y’all are awesome teammates. Love you guys! I’m ready for next year!

Congrats to all our competitors that stepped up to the plate, took the challenge and kicked butt! Way to represent CFES! Smashley, Colin, Blake…thanks for pushing me and pushing yourselves…I’m so proud of you guys! Also big thanks to everyone who took pictures, video etc of the weekend. It’s been fun reliving the madness!

Justin – you put on such an awesome event and should be SO proud. It was so much fun and well executed, everyone from my gym (SFCF) had a great time and enjoyed (aka was tortured by) those brutal workouts. Looking forward to 2013!
