Anyone know where is this picture taken? Looks like a physical therapist office.
Leave it to Lene to take a world class fitness athlete and convince them to pose doing silly bullshit. This pic kinda makes me jealous because in all my years of doing curls, I never got the opportunity to do them with bumper plates. For one it looks cooler because the weights are bigger. Plus it would have been a lot more fun to slam the ez-bar down on the floor after a good ol' set of "curls for the girls." By the way I am pretty sure that all the curls I used to do did in fact help attract some attention from the opposite sex, so even though they are not a functional exercise, they did have a function. By the way I am pretty sure Lene still does "in the closet curls" at least once a week. No evidence, just a hunch.
What do you guys think of throwing in a few sets of curls to pump up the guns now and again? How bout some crunchies for the abs, huh ladies? Can any of you elaborate on why we as CrossFitters do not consider preacher curls and crunchies to be functional exercises? Is it possible to have well developed guns and abs without isolation training? What might be the negative side effects of isolation training? And what is the CrossFit definition of a functional movement anyway? (you all should really know this one, somebody please throw me a bone here)
