When one doesn't have Justin's camera to get a picture of one of CFES' devilishly good looking members…one is forced to improvise.
In the spirit of this Love Fest we've been having here on the blog lately I wanted to take one more opportunity to applaud you all for continuing to show up and put in the effort despite life. I recognize that busting your ass may not ALWAYS (sometimes it might be) be the first thing you want to do after work, kids, or any other time life beckons but I like to think that it will go a long way to leaving a healthier, more balanced life. It was neat to read the comments, from Travis' lovely post the other day, and hear all of the different levels of appeal CrossFit provides us. I was very pleased with the positive feedback and hope you all recognize that you worked hard and earned that success. This program will give back whatever you put in. For example, I suspect that those members who read this blog daily are far fitter on average than those members who do not. It is not that I believe this blog is making anyone more fit (now wouldn't that be nice) but rather an indication that their fitness is important to them.
lastly, I wanted to urge those of you who dream of being Rich Froning, are putting in the effort, and making all of the right moves to help you understand that your fitness takes time. This is not an overnight process but if you keep working you will move in the right direction. I know how easy it is to get frustrated when we want to be better than we really are. But, is there anyone out there who's not improved in the last three months with no idea why? If so speak up and I bet we'll find a reason.
Just try to be more like Travis…if all else fails, grow a beard.

Mental-health-wise, after one workout I thought “One PR can ruin your whole bad day.”
Some of comments the other day were really inspiring. Thank you Travis for motivating that.

Blake: nice!
Chris: thanks for the level 1 seminar. Helps put things into focus.

No love-fest here, Blake. In addition to the heinousness of today’s WOD, I have added the stupidest CF boo-boo ever: the sandbag hickey, a red smear perfectly equidistant between chin and collar bones. One does not get the street cred from this boo-boo that one gets from ripped shins or hands. No. I look like I have been given a hickey by someone who has read about hickeys but doesn’t really understand them.
So. I think this might be instant karma for mocking Blake’s warm up this morning. Mea culpa maxima. I solemnly swear never to sing the hokey pokey song during a warm-up ever again.

Chris, thank you for organizing a preview of Level 1 test. It was good to figure out what areas I need to work on. Sadly for me there is no magical class which would make me row faster or do unbroken pull ups. And I am not ready to sacrifice my life outside the box by growing a beard, Blake… :/

Well Jen, I’m glad you learned your lesson. That was actually the intent of the days warm up believe it or not.
Olga…just think about it, that’s all I ask.

If anyone doing the Urban Cow 5k or 1/2 marathon tomorrow wants to meet up before the race and warm up and stretch together, I’ll be near the start line, wearing a CFES shirt, on the interior side of the park (side closest to the golf course) starting around 7:00-7:15. The half starts at 7:30 and the 5k starts at 7:45. It’s going to be good weather for PRs. Hope to see you there!

Good luck, sabrina!
