What an amazing day. The workouts were great, there were no hiccups, we started on time and stayed on schedule, the athletes were amazing, and the volunteers were outstanding. The CrossFit community never ceases to amaze me. Only in CrossFit have I ever seen an athlete stand there and cheer for the same person who is about to beat them out of their spot.
After 2 events there was a 3 way tie for first place between CF Santa Cruz, Cf Redding, and CF 209 Sport. The sudden death tie breaker came down to a team relay. Each athlete in succession had to carry a sandbag 200m and climb a 14ft rope. Men used a 100# sandbag and women used 70#. The final placing came down to who could complete this event the fastest, and CF Santa Cruz edged out CF Redding and CF 209 Sport.
It was great to have so many great athletes , spectators and volunteers in our box all having a blast and taking part in this event, exemplifying the excellence that this community was founded on and continues to strive for. Thanks again to all the volunteers and to all the athletes who traveled to come and participate. It was our pleasure to host you all and we look forward to seeing you all in the future.
