With every stress there is an adaptation. You all understand how your body can physically adapt. There are many things that are analogus in life that might help you better understand why you might need to do something out of your comfort zone. Depending on how you look at the word STRESS will dictate how you react emotionally and physically. So open your minds and think outside the box for a moment. Given that our box is designed to attack, break down your weakest point in order to build you up bigger, better, stronger than you were before. Like badass STEVEO up above… Think of these listed below.

Stresses  -  Reaction  -  Adaptation
Your kids don't listen, so you beat them. Presto! They listen.
Enter a Sauna and you Sweat. When done Regularly you will aclimatize.
Stretching muscle will lengthen your muscle thus Increasing flexability.
Lifting Weight will require muscle recruitment and your body will adapt with Increased Strength.

You get the point here… The first one is obviously a joke but there are examples of stresses all around. How you react will lead to desired adaptations if you attack them in the correct manner. The purpose of this particular post is to encourage you to look at your training and ask yourself, what kind of adaptaions do you need to become more fit?  Try and simplify your goal to the basic level and then attack your training with that adaptation in mind.  There will be more to come regarding ADAPTATIONS and an exciting announcement in the COMMENT SECTION.  Check it out!

So I haven’t had access to this for awhile and am just seeing the 9am rant from last week. Tell us how you really feel! I’m surprised there wasn’t a link with other CF gyms accepting new members.

Amy, I think my feelings would best be summarized by a monologue from my favorite made for TV movie, “The Betty Broderick Story” starring Meridith Baxter Birney. “I remember when it was . . .
Or better yet in the words of Brooke- “No Pussies”

Anyone up for a Special Class Called Adaptaions? Stay tuned for tomorrow, the level one prep class was only the beginning and got me thinking how much more the average member in here needs some special attention. Thank you guys for helping us here at Crossfit East Sac make this place what it is and is becoming.

  4. Amy- I’m surprised that folks’ memberships weren’t automatically transferred to Lean On Me.

  5. I always wondered how the 6million dollar man’s heart could cope with the added stress of running that fast.

Adaptations, you say?? I’m down for all the help I can get. I’m intrigued by the idea. I hope this isn’t some Lene joke that I’ve just walked into and wil look like a fool for commenting on it. Please, oh please, CrossFit Gods, make this be a legit post by Lene…

There is always the chance this is a trap… but I’m with you! Excited for a little extra coaching. And No, Cris, THANK YOU (and the other coaches) for the extra time and motivation!

  8. Chris: see what a good guy you can be when you try? Sweet!

  9. Hmm, looks like you’ve caused some people to develop some trust issues, Lene.

Chris, with the above reservations included, I’d be interested as well.

I always wondered how the six million dollar man’s shoulder handled the stress of him picking up a car with his bionic arm.

  12. I am used to walking into this kind of traps so I am pretty well adapted. I am with Jamie for all the help I can get.
Now is anybody worried about some Level 1 peeps getting a hernia over this 5K run business? I am not.

  13. brother mike

I spoke with Chris at noon and he said the Adaptations class is going to be available at a few times during the week for 3 months and will involve running a 5k every week until you can learn not to ditch the running class.

  14. I dont normally apologize for my brother, but I kinda feel like it needs to be done this time.

  15. Matt P: for which remark? The anatomical reference or the 5K?
Anyway I guess I better sign up for the adoption class (or is it adaptation? whatever). Because I like Chris, and want to spend more time around him.
    Cheers.

  16. On a high stress day, I love to do CF and come back to “the present.” Worries gone. Just trying to recover from a cardio blast.
