“Isabel”
30 Power Snatch 135/95 For Time
The goblet squat is a unique kettlebell exercise that we have recently found to be very useful in developing a good full range of motion squat. The kettlebell is held out away from the body at chin level with the elbows slightly flexed. The weight of the bell counter balances the body and allows the lifter to achieve a much more upright position. The weight out front also forces the body to engage the posterior chain more keeping the lumbar curve much tighter than without load.
Below is a quick video of Jeff Leonard, the winner of the Nor Cal Regional Qualifier 2009, performing Isabel in world class time. This is the goal.
