It’s A Goal… Resolutions Suck!

It is time to start setting some specific goals and holding each other accountable to achieving those goals.  I have made a board with everyone's names on it and space to write a 3 month and a 6 month goal.  I would like to see this board filled out by the end of the week.  The goal deadline for the 3 month will be April 1st and the 6 month will be July 1st. 

Goal setting is a great way to stay motivated.  We are not looking at these as new year's resolutions, who ever kept a new year's resolution anyway?  These goals are personal achievement goals, and we intend to continue updating them every 3 and 6 months.  You can pick any goal that is important to you personally and pertains to health or fitness.  Some of you should have an attendance goal while others should have a performance goal.  If you need help developing realistic goals, we will be glad to help.  We want attainable goals that are also challenging.  So start thinking about what you want to accomplish in the next few months, then write it up on the board for all to see.  We will all see when you succeed, when you tried your heart out, and we will all see if you fail miserably due to lack of effort.  Put yourself in a position of accountability and you are bound to succeed.

Also, we have wiped out the PR board which Travis and I nearly filled up ourselves.  We want to see more participation in that area.  You do not have to be modest about your PR's around here.  We all want to see your accomplishments, no matter how big or small.  There are enough PR's in this gym on a daily basis to fill that entire whiteboard section every month, and we want to see that happen.  Every time you lift 5 more pounds, every time you squeak out one more pull up than before, every time you do anything measurably better than you have done before put it on the PR board.  Let's look at it like a group effort to hit enough PR's every month to fill the board.
