WOD: Rest
Hi everyone, Rae here. Sunday Strength days will house 1) our weekly programming, and 2) videos to help you with lifting form or function. If you have questions that have been floating around your minds, post to comments and I'll use those as the basis for future posts.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the class, we do a heavy squat/deadlift on Tuesday at 6pm, heavy press on Thursday at 6pm, and a dynamic effort day Saturday at 11am. Come as regularly as you can, it's a structured program that builds in three week cycles.
For those of you who have been doing dynamic effort squats with me, here's how we're going to do them next week. I've had you come down really slowly to train the positioning, but now we can go at speed.
A little while ago, some of you asked about belts. Come see me in person for specific brand recommendations, but here's how to use them (it's kind of long but goes over the different types of belts too).
Tuesday: Max effort deficit deadlift.
Thursday: Max effort close grip bench.
Sat: Speed box squats at 60%, Speed shoulder press at 60%. Last week of this cycle.

It looks like they are just popping straight off the box and not straightening up at the bottom as we have been taught.
Is this because they are not going back as far, so the straightening up isn’t as dramatic or are they doing a slightly different movement?
Granted, it could all be obscured by Louie’s tattoos and use of steroids.

They are, it’s not a rocking movement per se, but you do shift to your seatbones.

Does this mean we are getting a monolift??
Rae
Hahaha considering we’ve done human racks for our last couple press days…probably not
