Many of you know Judi Farmer from our 9AM crew. What many of you may not know is that about 6 months ago Judi went to her Docs knowing something wasn't right. After various scans and tests, they found pre-cancerous cysts on Judi's pancreas. The good news was that they found the cysts very early and the bad news is that operating on the pancreas is very difficult and leaves the patient with a high chance of becoming diabetic afterward.
Judi was cleared for physical activity and continued to do CrossFit, even participating in the Open with all of us. She is shown here on the right judging and cheering on a fellow masters athlete.
Judi had her surgery at Stanford last Friday and everything went very well and it looks unlikely at this point that she will have diabetes! Her doctors had commented that it was a good thing Judi was so fit and so in tune with her body. She was able to tell something was wrong very early on and is recovering strong from surgery. We don't know exactly how much longer she will be at Stanford but she is taking phone calls and texts. Cards and flowers would be greatly appreciated sent to her house, it's a small hospital room and Jim doesn't really want to try and get it all home.
We all look forward to seeing you back at the gym! Way to be healthy and tough!
