IMG_5860My name is Tommy Struhm, I was born and raised in Fair Oaks, Ca. Went to Bella Vista High School then off to Chico State where I graduated in 2007. Moved to the East Bay for work for about 5 years, and was happy return to Sacramento in 2012. Most recent move was to River Park about 3 months ago.

I work as a Sales Consultant for French and American Oak Cooperage (wine barrel manufacturer) out of Benicia, CA – Tonnellerie O.  My territory has me on the move quite a bit since I cover most of Northern CA, all the way up to Washington and other parts of the Pacific North West.

I grew up playing all sports, but my focus was competitive soccer, and baseball. Since my mom was a volunteer ski patroller in the winter, when I wasn’t on the field, my younger brother and I were on the mountain skiing and snowboarding. With the recent lack of snow and expensive ticket prices I have been doing much less snowboarding and a lot more duck hunting.

As of now, my hobbies are golf, stand-up paddle boarding, hunting and cooking. My mom is a transplant from Santa Cruz, so we have still has a family beach house in Seabright.  I used to spend much of the summers vacationing there, going to the beach and surfing, but now because of this thing called work, I find that I have a lot less time and can’t make it there as much. Last summer a friend convinced me to buy a Stand-Up-Paddle Board, which is not only great exercise but good therapy as far as being out on the water. So I find myself out on the river quite a bit doing that. In the winter October through January, I am most likely duck hunting on the weekends with my dog “Rooster”. During the summer my favorite thing to do is golf.

As far as my fitness goes, I have high expectations of pushing myself by joining this gym. I am excited about the new people and encouragement as of yet. I’m digging the camaraderie, and the fact that the workouts are always different and intense.

My goal is to lose 20 lbs in the next three months, and get back into the shape I was in a couple years back. To be able to do a muscle up, and squat 300 lbs.

My long term goal would be to consistently live a healthier lifestyle…eating clean and drinking less. Work out 5 days a week, and be a stud in the “Performance Rx” by this time next year.
