’13 Games Swim/Muscle Up Event

If it’s good enough for the games, it’s good enough for us.  As much as I may dislike it, and as terrible as it may feel to those of us who didn’t spend a lifetime working the technique, swimming is a legit form of functional exercise.  If I could have a pool in the gym, we’d be swimming regularly.  Good thing for me that isn’t possible.

But what is possible is to rent a pool once in a while and throw rocks (you guys) into it.

We will be doing our 2nd annual swim WOD at Glenn Hall Pool on Sunday August 25th from 8-10AM.  Our very own swim coach and CrossFit Swimming specialist Brain Nabeta will give us some skills and drills, then we will do a couple challenges involving the pool and some dry land movements.  At least part of the day will be team oriented relay style.  The workout will be appropriate for all levels of athlete, swimmers and non-swimmers.  Non-swimmers, be prepared to get your asses handed to you by our group of amphibious CrossFitters.  Our froggies are bad asses in the pool and out.

The one recommendation is to go out and get yourself a pair of swim goggles.  Other than that, just sign up on Front Desk HQ and show up ready for a different kind of WOD.
