Alright, Week 1 of the Open is in the books. How does everyone feel about 13.1?

    Super bummed I missed 13.1. Caught the Flu at the worst possible time. Sounds like everyone had a great experience for the 1st round. Maybe I’ll just do the workouts for fun and not post. Is that ok Justin?

    As I said on Saturday, this WOD because it was an exact combination of 12.1 and 12.2 (same movements and intensity, same time frame), gave us an opportunity to assess how far we’ve progressed in the past year. For example, last year I got through the 45# snatches and the 75# snatches. I did this year too, but the circumstances were much more difficult. The burpees added a level of fatigue that could have compromised the lifts.
    Also, last year the only way I got through the lifts was by having three experienced members coaxing and coaching me through the lifts. I barely managed to get through them even with that help. And I know I dumped the weight several times.
    This time I had some ugly lifts, but I didn’t dump any of them, nor was I reliant on constant coaching just to get me through the WOD. And I got four more burpees than I did last year.
    So, I saw this first WOD as a “How far have you come in the last year?” event, and I was satisfied with the result.
    But now I am really worried about what bedevilment lies ahead in 13.2…

    Except for all the burpees and snatches, I actually really enjoyed 13.1.

    Can we have a ‘my butt is still sore two days later’ category because mine sure is. Guess I should be happy I snatch somewhat correctly and it isn’t my back.

    Waited until the last possible hour to go at it. Wasn’t expecting much out of myself because of a sinus infection that wasn’t loosening its grip on my aching face. I did better than I thought. Glad i got something up on the board.. And a number that I would have been happy with sick or not.
