7AM to 12:00pm hosting B & B!  No, you can't sleep over. I mean Bloody's and Breakfast!

Actual address is 700 47th Street, 10K Race runs right in front of CFES headquarters. Please feel free to stop by for a bloody mary, breakfast, or simply to cheer on our Crossfit Team Members who decide to run this race!

Parking should be done on Pala Way directly up the street or on 46th Street between F and H directly behind my house.  Plan on arriving before 7:30 or they will stop you from crossing the streets.  Plan on not being able to leave until after 10:00am.  Anything in between those times? RIDE A BIKE OR WALK! Come by before, during or after and kick off this day the right way.  I am looking forward to having you all over. Kids are welcome too. The 5K and the 10 K meet up again right at the corner in front of the bagel shop so it is also a good place to see everyone you want to watch coming by.

  1. Race bibs will be at CFES after noon today! Shirts went to get CFES-ified last week, but they should be at the box soon too, if not there already. (I’m going in at noon today to match race bibs to shirts, so I hope everything is there.)Thanks to everyone who signed up! I’ve done this race every year since I can remember and made teams the last few years, but the CFES turnout melts my heart. Can’t wait to see everyone on Thursday – I’ll be biking over for my pre-race bloody mary, for sure!

Thanks for posting the picture Lene. I heard some people might have a hard time finding the house numbers.

  3. Running is not my fav, but Bloodys and Breakfast….awe melts my heart. I will ride my 3 speed cruiser over. Thanks for invite. I promise to yell real loud when the peeps run by.

  4. This is my first year running this event on a team. As a newbie to CFES, I’m excited to be part of this! Ari, thanks for coordinating all the bibs, shirts, etc.

  5. brother mike

    Happy Birthday Big Rob!

  6. Ari, I’ve never done this race, please, clue me in. I plan on walking with our group, so where do we meet and what time?
This may sound… well I don’t know how it may sound, but CFES restores my faith in goodness and generosity of people. I admire y’all more than I can express.

  7. Chris Lene

KYLE! I will get you back some day.

  8. Jamie P

I’m with Olga – is there a desginated Team CFES meeting time/location? I’ll be walking the 5k with the jogging stroller. I’m thinking of attempting something in addition to walking, maybe walk it with my sandbag backpack? Any ideas on what elements I can add to my walk?

  9. brother mike

Jamie: 5k walking lunge? 5k Catie carry? 5k Chloe carry? 5k sled drag? 5k high knee skip? 5k with 10 burpees on someone’s front lawn every 3 minutes? 5k fireman’s carry with a Catie on one side and a Chloe on the other? 5k while carrying a 50# sandbag, 10 sandbag shoulder to overhead every 3 minutes?

  10. I think I’m doing the 10k with a sandbag. Anyone want to join me? Hoping to not end up like the girl from Davis at the Fall Classic a couple weekends ago..

  11. Amy Muraki

Jamie- I will be walking with brooks in the stroller as well. I think Jen is planning on having Stella and Ellen will have Miles. Sandbags are good ideas- anyone have some extras?? 🙂
And no decision on meeting location?

  12. Sean T.

I’ll absolutely do a weighted vest or sandbag carry 5K.

  13. Jamie P

Just throwing this out there, ya’ll, and Team Captain Ari may have already devised a time/location for the team meet-up…..
5k starts at 9:00 am on J Street right by the Sac State Entrance (I think that’s the start place). So, why don’t we plan to gather by the Announcer’s crane at 8:50 am? I’m assuming they’ll have the cran there again for the Announcer and Mayor Johnson to speak from….

  14. Jamie P

There will also be a giant blow-up turkey on the CSUS esplanade area — we could gather our selves there, instead….

  15. Jen

    KYLE – WIN!!!
Jamie/Amy.. I’ll be there walking with you ladies (Stella too!) Anyone fore mimosas in a thermos? (Kyle gets credit for that one). I dont know if Im going to push her or put her in a carrier on my back.. weighted walking. Good thing I signed up as a timed adult (on accident)lol.
We could just meet at the gym.

  16. Would anybody like to push me in some type of stroller/cart? Those babies sure have it good.

  17. Jamie P

I’m DOWN for mimosas! Or, I just may have to get out Matt’s trusty Halloween Thermos and fill it with something….Absinthe anyone??

  18. Hi RTFH Teammates! These are the instructions for picking up your race packet at CFES.
    1) For every runner, I assembled a Ziploc baggy with the following contents: team race shirt, race number (with 4 safety pins attached to one corner), and VIP parking pass.
    2) The shirts are organized in 6 stacks along the wall to the right behind the counter. Pinned to the wall above the stacks is a team roster that tells you which stack your packet will be in.
    3) Attached to the team roster is a highlighter for you to cross off your name after you have picked up your race packet.
The stacks are not perfect – Ziploc bags are slippery – so if your shirt is not in the stack indicated, check the one next to it. I hope this system is easy to follow and that picking up the shirts at the box is convenient for everyone. Apologies if my communication as captain has been lacking until now! Please email me if you have additional questions. Another blog posting with ideas for Thursday morning to follow shortly.

  19. Hello again, RTFH Teammates! These are the ideas for Thursday morning.
    1) Race start times are as follows:
10k runners start their race at 8:30.
    5k runners/walkers start their race at 9:00.
    2) If you do not live in East Sac or Downtown, get down here early to park. I have come from Sunrise Blvd. on Highway 50 before, and the 65th Street exit is a zoo if you leave too late.
    3) I suggest we meet at the CFES parking lot between 8 and 8:30 for some photo ops. We should start walking over to the race at 8:30. No offense to the announcer’s crane, but I have found it impossible to meet up with a group anywhere near the starting line. (Plus, it will be really difficult to take advantage of aforementioned team photo ops with 20,000 other people around.)
4)I suggest we try to have a good time and not take ourselves too seriously. I LOVE the idea of mimosa thermoses and sandbag/medicine ball carries. Only at CFES!
Honestly, I am just excited to be participating in this event with, as Olga so succinctly put it, a group of people that I admire more than I can express. I was personally overwhelmed by the turnout for this team, and so glad that I had a hand in putting it together. Big thanks to Justin, Anne, Hollis, and Ryan, and anyone else who had a role in getting our team shirts to look so LEGIT! See you all Thursday morning between 8 and 8:30 at CFES!

  20. dawn

I miss all the fun! I have to work that morning until noon. Everyone have a great race, a cocktail for me and a lovely Thanksgiving.

  21. Guys, did anyone read the post?
The meeting place is Lene’s house. 7am-whenever you want to cruise out to the start line. You can meet in the CFES parking lot too, but the gym will be closed, and that’s just no fun. Go to Lene’s, slam a beermosa and then go walk/yog/race.

  22. Also, shirts/packets that aren’t picked by by Wednesday evening will be at Lene’s in the morning.

  23. Amy Muraki

Jen- I was just thinking that I may carry Brooks in a carrier for a weighted walk… but 9am is his nap time and I may end up with a pissed off baby! I guess I can have him in the carrier and Blake in the stroller (in case Brooks needs it!) haha!!!

  24. Amy- tell brooks to suck it up, it’s for charity.

  25. Jennifer R.

I am SO excited! I am too late to join the CFES team, but I just signed up to run the 10k and I will tag along with the rest of you–Blake, did ya find a good jog stroller? I used to have one that would fit you…
Anyhoo, I have wanted to run this race for years, but we go to my mother’s early instead. But you guys (beermosas? CFES spirit and camaraderie? Blake in a stroller? ) pushed me over the edge. I am putting my girls on a train to my mother’s and I will hit the road after the “race.”
Thanks so much Ari, Justin and Chris for pushing/supporting this!
