It’s easy to come in here, do what’s on the board, and leave. We have a great program here and without a doubt, this will make you better and more fit. What is YOUR focus? What are YOUR goals? I challenge everyone reading this blog, and I mean EVERYONE, to think of a 1 month, 6 month, and one year fitness goal. Write it in the comment section of this post. I want to know what people want to work on. I want to know how we, as the training staff, can help you achieve these goals in the allotted time. Lets all commit to something and hold each other to it. We have a great community of motivating people around us. Lets put it out there and make it happen. The time is NOW!

I’ll go first:
In one month, I will be able to do 10 unbroken strict handstand pushups.
In six months, I will be able to walk 50ft, turn around, and walk 50 more ft on my hands.
In one year, I will have a 475lb deadlift.

Just so u know Josh that I signed up for the 10 class today but did not receive an email. When I went back to re enroll said I was already enrolled so if it doesn’t show up know I signed up.

Thanks Josh. Every year after the Open I plan on setting goals and never get around to writing them down much less working on them. As I was writing them down I kept thinking of more.

    1 month
Be able to string together 5 kipping pull-ups instead of just 3

    6 months
Be able to consistently string together 10 double unders at a time so they don’t slow me down during a workout and

Be able to do a jumping chest to bar pull-up

    1 year
Be able to string together 10 reps of 10# wall balls without missed reps
Be able to do 10 standard push ups without failure.

Great post Josh–thank you! It feels good to nail these down. Hope more people respond as the day goes on…?

1mo: test out of Foundations #%$&@!
    6mo: 10 consecutive T2B
    1year: sub 24min 5k
Carol (and Josh) let’s remind each other of these going forward!

Josh, this is a great idea, thank you! I feel like my goals are very low-level compared to most but: in a month my goal is to be able to do 10 pushups consecutively (I’m close now). In six months, I plan to be able to string together 5 kipping pullups. In a year my goal is to be able to do strict pullups (even just one).

I might need some help with figuring out how to actually do these things. I also really want to get faster with my running but am not sure what is a realistic goal. Hmm. This makes me think it is time to get some private coaching on particular things I want to improve.

1 month: clean and jerk 95kg
6 months: qualify A session at the American Open; manage knee pain and squat 150kg
    1 year: total 180kg

Great idea Josh. I am setting a skill and strength component for each because there is SO much I want to get better/stronger at.
    1 month: 100+ double unders, 10 dead hang pull-ups
6 month: 20 linked toes to bar, 275-285# dead lift
1 year: 5 linked muscle ups, 125# snatch
And through it all, manage my disc stuff an no further injury!!!!!!
