I love to make things, in case you haven't noticed. I made all kinds of things for this years event, but my favorite had to be the 2 dollar weapons! Blair and I tested these things tons of time on concrete and broke only one of them. I made about 20 extras for the event and thought that I had made way two many. Well as we have seen once before in the past and we saw again today, CrossFitters kinda suck at throwing. It also turns out that bad throws break the spears even on a dirt surface.
I thought the haters would be running wild on the internet on this event for sure. Kinda bummed there wasn't any idiocracy to read from the vocal minority this year.
We almost had to shut down the event as we began to run out of spears, but Kyle Keller saved the day and ran to Lowes to get supplies. He and my brother Brad set up on the back of my truck and went into mas production mode saving the day. Just one of many examples of how the volunteers scrambled to make this a great day.
