Goals

Because that weight is not going to lift itself.

We will be re-starting the goal board today.  It will be a bit different this time in that we are not going to list everyone on the board, and we are not going to set 3 and 6 month timelines.  If you choose to use the goal board or not will be up to you, and the time line of your goals may be whatever you choose within reason.

We will set some guidelines on how to properly set goals that you will be successful in attaining. The guidelines will be as follows:

1) Goals must be specific and concise.

2) Goals must be stated in the positive.

3) Goals must be measureable and have a timeline

4) You must take a starting measurement of where you are when you set your goal.

*Good Goal Example:
I will lose 15 lbs by January 1st 2011.  (Current weight as of 9/27 is 215)

**Bad Goal Example:
I do not want to be overweight by next year  (I'm obese now)

Before writing your goals on the board, come talk to Travis or myself about how to state your goal properly, and to make sure that your timeline and expectations are reasonable.  We will also help you devise a plan to successfully achieve your goal.

Please start thinking of a couple things you really want to achieve.  Then lets write it down publicly on the board and get committed to attaining our goals.
