The best thing about AMRAP WODs is that as soon as they are over, the bodies hit the deck and it looks like a classic Jim Jones scene where everyone dies at the exact same time. At least most of us are educated enough to not be wearing Nikes, but there must have been some seroius kool aid to have this many people sprawled out. This was the 5:30 PM foundations class. For those of you who thought foundations was easy, think again.
As this horror scene played out the other night I was busy signing up a new member who I had done a consultation session with two nights before. This guy had gotten crushed by the consult WOD and needed some time to decide if he really wanted to do this or not. As he was filling out paperwork, I grabbed the camera to document the awesomeness of this moment. As I took pictures he looked around and I could see this look on his face turn from excitment to panic. He was thinking, "What the hell is this place? What am I getting myself into? I'm not sure if I should really do this or not." It was classic. I always enjoy watching an outsider try to make sense of this place. He did end up signing up for next months On-Ramp, despite what his logic was telling him. Hopefully he is just crazy enough to stick with it and realize his own potential.
