The above picture features on of our members Carol Robinson racing toward a gold medal in the the US Master's National Rowing
Championships in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Carol, far left, is 61 and is racing in a lower age caregory.  By her account it
was a very fast race and it wasn't pretty.  Carol said that while
they took the lead early, she thought she was going to die when the
coxswain called for the sprint at the end.  In case you were wondering, rowing on the water is just as terrible feeling as it is on the erg, and it's probably worse given the fact that you can see your opponents trying to edge you out.

Carol said her open mouth is a
testament to her oxygen depletion and anaerobic state.  She said the
memory of the pain of various CrossFit WODS helped her tough it out for
what she says was one of the hardest races she ever won.  Needless to say,
she is back training with us here at CFES for the winter and is gearing up for next
year's racing season.

What a great success Carol!  We love to see our members out putting thier fitness to the test in various forms of competition.  For the record, I had to beg Carol to send in this pic and share her gold medal story with us, but this is an accomplishment that I just couldn't let her keep to herself.
